Jean-Marie Cardebat, Professor at Bordeaux University and a key expert in wine economics, participated in the annual meeting of the Marmandais winery, where he joined discussions on the future of the wine market and the evolving challenges faced by the viticulture sector.
One of the central themes of the meeting focused on sustainable development and the practices of winegrowers and winemakers aiming to adapt to environmental and economic transitions. Professor Cardebat highlighted the importance of education and continuous training as essential tools to support this transformation toward a more resilient and sustainable wine industry.
In this context, he also presented the STIV project (Sustainable Transition in Viticulture) as one of the initiatives contributing to the development of green and digital skills in the sector. The project’s objectives — promoting sustainability, innovation, and resilience in European viticulture — were recognized as aligned with the broader efforts of the wine community to ensure a balanced and sustainable future.
The participation of the STIV project in such discussions reinforces its role in bridging academic research, professional practice, and vocational education, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across the European viticulture network.
